Guitar Lessons in Stratford Upon Avon for Beginners
Welcome to the website of Stratford Strings, guitar lessons designed for beginners. My name is Mike and I am based between Stratford upon Avon and Moreton in Marsh. I offer relaxed one to one guitar tuition at my home in Stretton On Fosse and also guitar setup, aimed at getting you up and running playing the guitar music and style of your choice. From Blues to classical to rock, old and new. You can also choose to play lead or rhythm guitar.
Playing the guitar can be one of the most pleasurable of experiences but whilst learning the basics of how to hold the instrument, tuning up and basic chords, many people get bored and quit. This is why I try to help you to get playing your favourite type of music within the first couple of weeks to ensure that you fall in love with the playing the guitar to motivate you to learn.

Mike first taught me guitar when I was about 14 years old, over 30 years ago now. After a few years I became quite proficient to the point that my music teacher at school was disappointed when I didn’t choose it as GCSE option; Mike continued to coach me and my music teacher allowed me to sit the exam anyway – including all of the practical tests on the guitar – and I obtained a GCSE grade B (all without attending a single lesson in school!). Mike and I still got together, trading tricks and tips over the years, and I have since been gigging in bands for the last 14 years. I started playing rhythm in the group first, progressing to lead guitar with another band, and have been lucky enough to play at some large gigs and a couple of outdoor festivals.
